Deruta and Umbria

Duruta is an ancient hilltop town in Umbria famous for its ceramics. Fine art pottery has been produced here since before the Renaissance. Deruta was a nice change of pace for us - not packed with tourists we could stroll through the town at a leisurely pace and meet and chat with the artists. Also included are photos of the inn where we stayed in Casalino, near Deruta - L'antico Forziere. This was a fabulous countryside B&B, family owned, and operated, with an excellent restaurant. The meal here was a top highlight of our food experiences.
